The land of Alenthis was once a peaceful place, where creatures called Sprites lived in harmony.
They were of the elements, and were in some way connected to land, air, fire and water.
But, lurking in the shadows of time, an evil sorcerer awakened from his deep slumber.
That night, the balances of earth, air, fire and water, were shaken.
Earthquakes tormented the land. Never ending storms sunk homes. Extinct volcanoes awakened. Uncalled for tornadoes, swept up all existing life in their path of destruction.
One sprite however, knew a way to call upon the gods.
He called upon the god of all the elements, the overlord, and sent out a plea of help.
He got one strange answer:
Find the five.
He looked dumbfoundedly at the god, then felt a strange feeling of weakness overcome his consciousness.
And so, Palaedius' fate was set. To find the five worthy, and give them each a special power to finally defeat the evil sorcerer, Shaddicus.
The Sprite of Elements is created.
